What is the experience like when you are photographing us?
I customize the experience to you. Expect to feel comfortable very quickly, move a lot and have a lot of fun doing it. If you are an extrovert, I’ll match your energy too. There will be moments you get lost in the emotion, moments you feel like a model and moments like right out of a movie set! I like to approach photography in one of three key ways, depending on the situation, and bounce between them as scheduling permits. #1 I document the moments, you pretend I’m not there. #2 I set up the general shot, adjust the light as needed, but capture spontaneity and natural moments throughout. #3 I design an opportunity with all the right conditions and guide you through the experience of creating a fine art masterpiece.
What is a digital package and what editing do you include?
All of your images are carefully sorted, colour corrected and professionally adjusted for composition and lighting. I upload these to an online gallery for 12 months, wherein you can star your favourites, share photos with family and friends, order prints online and download your photos in high resolution with printing rights. I may edit out obvious distractions such as a skin blemish or bug that flew across my lens, but more complex edits such as fixing tan lines, removing greys or substantial complexion touch-ups will be billed separately upon request.
Will we get all the photos and how many should we expect?
For a full day wedding, the number of images depends on a lot of factors outside of my control, but it is not uncommon to receive 1000+ amazing photos of your day! Couple’s sessions typically yield 60+ edited images and intimate weddings 200+. I only remove photos that you wouldn’t want anyways, such as test shots or photos where people blinked or blocked each-other’s faces from view. I am a documentary photographer above all else, so you get everything that turns out and I emphasize story telling images to capture every element of your day on-camera.
What is a second shooter? Do we have the option of securing both Andy and yourself for our entire day?
For the busy parts of your day, from around the time you are getting ready through the start of your reception, I employ a qualified professional photographer with quality equipment to capture photos and assist me with set-up and moving. For select dates my husband, the other photographer with JessAndy Studios, will make himself available to photograph every part of your day right alongside with me. He is available for full-day weddings only at an extra charge of $1000.
What equipment do you bring to a wedding?
I personally use a canon R5 mirrorless and 5D III camera, 70-200mm 2.8L, 85mm 1.2L, 50mm 1.4l, 15-35mm 2.8l plus flashes, strobes and light modifiers. My second shooter brings similar quality professional equipment.
Do you offer a confidentiality option that guarantees you will not share our images or post them for public viewing?
Yes this is always an option available upon request. Typically I would still reserve the right to share some of my favourite images where no facial features are visible and detail/decor images without people in them. I do prefer to have the ability to share select images from your day and am happy to run these by you if this is preferential.
Are there any recommendations for getting the most out of our photography experience?
Yes, so many! From having a great day-of coordinator, to assigning someone to keep surfaces tidy, to staging rooms, to accessories to bring, to self-care tips…. I’ll give you a lot of advice gleaned from my many years’ experience. Part of getting ready for your wedding photography experience is getting to know each other with regular communication before your big day, this will ensure you have as much fun as possible hanging out with me all day long!
How far in advance do we need to book and what are the next steps?
For 2025, as I’m just relaunching this May after a 2 year pause, I have availability to accept full-day weddings and destination events with short notice. Typically I would book key weekends about 2 years out, but there is often availability with 6-12 months notice. Before booking I always recommend a phone call, video meet or a coffee in my hometown just to ensure we connect well and share a similar vision for your photos. To reserve me for your day I usually take a 25% non-refundable retainer and require payment in full 90 days out, with payment plans and fundraising options available.
What are your funding and financing options?
I offer a 12 month payment plan, half-day packages for mid-week dates, and the option of a more affordable photography-only package with separate digital packages you ad to your wedding registry as a gift idea for family and fiends to purchase for you.
Can we see a complete wedding you photography from start to finish?

Yes I have done several multi-day weddings and offer custom packages to ensure all your important events are covered. I love big families, big parties and capturing the culture and customs that make your love story unique!
